Special Education

I chose to teach because I love to work with children.  I enjoy seeing the look on their little face when something "clicks."  So many teachers have made a positive impact on my life. I want to do the same thing.

 

Professional Career

  • Graduated from Erath High in 1996.
  • Graduated in Elementary Education from UL in May of 2001.
  • Earned a Special Education Certification through McNeese State 
    University in 2005.
  • Library Science Certification
  • Began teaching in August of 2001.
  • Taught 2 years at EMS, 2 years at JH Williams Middle, and currently at Dozier.
  • Dibels Trained and part of Parish Wide Dibels Assessment Team
  • SBLC Committee Member
  • PBS Committee Member
  • INTECH Trained
  • Highly Qualified Teacher- Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies
  • Member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society
  • AR Committee Member
  • Jr beta co-sponsor.

  • 2017-2018 Dozier Teacher of the Year

Personal

  • I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love watching my children play sports.  Traveling is something that my family and I look forward to each summer.
  • I'm married to Jeremy Romero. I have 4 beautiful children- Bailey, Parker, Lynkon and Maverick. One granddaughter, Cole Ryan
