Students in Amy LeBlanc's Erath High School Educators Rising class recently welcomed Dr. Blake Touchet, Teacher Support Partnership Specialist with the National Center for Science Education. He led a rich discussion on a range of topics including his career in education, curriculum, empathy, equity and social justice. Prior to joining the National Center for Science Education, Dr. Touchet worked as a DE Science teacher in Vermilion Parish, then he went on to work with Science teachers in Lafayette Parish before taking on current role. He now works with administrators and teachers across the country in helping to develop and implement science curriculums. The goal of the Educators Rising program is to encourage young people to pursue careers in education.
