Congratulations to Senior Beta members Layne Porter, Kennedi Leblanc, Jenna Slack, and Isaac Walton for placing 2nd in Musicology and Jolie Trahan for placing 4th in Apparel Design at State Convention!
Congratulations to our students for their success at this week's State Senior Beta convention! Maggie Duprie placed 3rd in Poetry, Tayler Guidry placed 1st in Ag Science, and Grace Braus placed 4th in French.
We want all to know that we are closely monitoring and are in contact with emergency officials and other school systems about our next weather event that could take place. Currently there is a forecast of evening and overnight rain on Monday evening with temperatures below freezing for portions of that forecast. After a slight rise in temp during the day on Tuesday, we are looking at a drop into the teens overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday.
We will be going into freeze protection mode Friday afternoon, with us being out of school on Monday, with a tentative plan of shutting off water on Monday morning. The issues that will arise is that until water is turned back on and we can assure that pipes are safe school is always in question. With the coldest temps expected for overnight Tuesday we will be put in a wait and see and make the best prediction mode. Please be patient with the decisions, but know that I will inform you on any cancellations if necessary. The safety of all stakeholders is always at the forefront of our decisions and that's why we build in weather days to our schedule.

The GHS Band celebrated Christmas a little early today by giving each other Secret Santa gifts and spending some time together having fun.

Earlier today, middle school students were inducted into the National Junior Beta Club. Beta members hold a 3.0 or better GPA, and also have all A's and B's. Congratulations to these outstanding students!

The GHS Band hosted their annual Christmas concert tonight. Shout out to both the 6-7th grade band and to the Advanced 8-12th grade band for an awesome performance, and thanks to all those who attended! We appreciate your support!
The GHS Band's annual Christmas Concert begins tonight at 6:00pm in the gym. Everyone is invited and admission is FREE, but for those that are able, we'd appreciate the donation of a non-perishable food item on your way in.
This year's program will be DIGITAL! QR Codes will be posted throughout the gym so that you can pull it up by scanning with your phone's camera. If you'd rather, though, you can just click on the link below and get there that way!
